- Over 25 years of experience as an epee fencing coach
- Alex’s early involvement in coaching, assisting his father, set the stage for what would become a highly accomplished coaching career of his own.
- Developed students who have been recruited by top NCAA universities, including Columbia, Cornell, Brown, John Hopkins, Yale, MIT, NJIT, Northwestern, Notre Dame, NYU, Ohio State, Penn State, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Air Force Academy
- He has worked with the U.S. National Team as a Designated Coach for the Junior Men’s and Women’s Epee Teams in both 2017 and 2018
- Three-time National Epee Champion as a member of the Georgian National Fencing Team
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education & Coaching/Fencing from Georgia University of Physical Education and Sport in 1997
- Currently coaching epee at Columbia University, North Shore Fencers Club, and New York Athletic Club
- Previous coaching experience at Tim Morehouse Fencing Academy, Fencing Academy of Westchester, Brooklyn Fencing Center, Riverdale Country School, and National Fencing Center in Tbilisi, Georgia
- US National Team Designated Coach, with several international competition wins
- US World Championship Team Members
- Successful results with students, including NCAA Championship wins, National and World Cup medals
